詹妮弗·米. 史密斯 joined the faculty of newbb电子平台 in Fall 2016, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in music theory. Prior to coming to 雅典, she held teaching positions at DePauw University, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and the University of Florida. While at the University of Florida, Dr. 史密斯 coordinated the freshman theory and aural skills curriculum and developed the theory curriculum for UF’s Online Master’s in 音乐 Education program, including a Canvas-based online diagnostic and review program. At DePauw, she helped to pioneer the first-year aural skills curriculum for the 21^st-Century 音乐ian program (21CM).

Dr. 史密斯’s research interests include Schenkerian analysis, Baroque textual expression, 短语结构, form, and music theory/aural skills pedagogy. Her current research focuses on the influence of tonal structure and motivic enlargements on the underlying narrative progression in J. S. Bach’s multi-movement vocal works, and she has presented aspects of this work at several regional conferences, including 音乐 Theory Southeast, the South Central Society for 音乐 Theory, and the Texas Society for 音乐 Theory. She has also served as an editorial assistant for音乐理论在线(2008–2010).
